Council for Geoscience (CGS): Human Resource Internship Programme 2025
Overall Job Purpose: To provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Business Unit.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support by screening applications received.
- Assist with scheduling interviews.
- Assist with preparation of recruitment packs.
- Assist with conducting pre-employment screening.
- Assist with preparing onboarding documents.
- Assisting with payroll, employee benefits, and other administrative tasks.
- Updating HR databases, maintaining employee files, and filing HR documents.
- Assist with organising events and meetings.
- Assist with learning and development activities.
- Assist with employee relations activities.
- Support internal HR projects (e.g., performance management and wellness programs).
- Work within the requirements of the prescribed work standards (i.e. ISO and international best practices).
- Ensure compliance with organisation policies.
Requirements:
- NQF Level 5 or Higher in: Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development or equivalent qualification.
- No working experience required.
Knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA).
- Knowledge of Labour Relations Act (LRA).
- Knowledge of Employment Equity Act (EEA).
- Knowledge of Skills Development Act (SDA).
Skills and Competencies:
- Well organised and ability to prioritise own work.
- Meets deadlines.
- Report writing.
- Analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Willingness to learn.
- Computer literate (MS Office).
- Speak English at business fluency level.
