Robben Island Museum (RIM): Internship Opportunities 2025 / 2026

This is a twelve (12) months programme aimed towards attaining skills and experience from the workplace. The Robben Island Museum (RIM) Graduate programme is a structured work-based internship development programme focused on taking graduates from various Universities/ University of Technologies or any Institution of Higher Learning through a structured work plan to expand their work experience.

Successful candidates will enter a twelve (12) months internship contract. The Graduates will enter a contract with RIM and be placed within the relevant departments within the museum for the duration of the internship.

Internship Opportunities are open for applications in the following Departments:

Heritage Department

Must have any of the following:

• National Diploma / Degree in: Audio Visual/ Multi-Media Studies
• National Diploma / Degree in: Nature Conservation
• Postgraduate Diploma in Museum and Heritage Studies and Archives

Office of the CEO Department

Must have any of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree Legal/ LLB
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration (Performance Planning & Evaluation)

Marketing & Tourism Department

National Diploma or Degree in:

• Marketing
• Communications
• Public Relations
• Journalism
• Media Studies

Education Department

• Bachelor’s degree Librarian

Human Resources Department

Must have any of the following:

• National Diploma / Degree in: HR / Industrial Psychology
• National Diploma / Degree in: Health & Safety
• Basic Life Support Qualification, registered with HPCSA, Code 10 Drivers license with PrDP and CPD compliant.

Finance​​​​​​​ Department

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance

Finance​​​​​​​ Department

• Bachelor’s Degree in: Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Procurement

Operations​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Department

Must have any of the following:

• National Diploma or Degree in: Public Relations Management / Customer Relationship Management (CRM) / Hospitality
• National Diploma or Degree in: Travel & Tourism
• B Tech in: Facility Management
• BEng/ BSc Structural or Civil engineering
• National Diploma or Degree in: ICT / Information Systems / Computer Science or CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA certifications.
