Garlicke & Bousfield Inc., a leading law firm with offices in Umhlanga, invites applications from suitably qualified, unemployed youth for participation in the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme. We are offering exciting entry-level opportunities across various departments within the Firm.

The YES Programme is a South African government initiative aimed at addressing youth unemployment by providing 12-month fixed-term work placements to unemployed individuals between the ages of 18 and 35. Participants will gain valuable workplace exposure and develop skills that enhance future employability.

Programme Details:

• Start Date: January 2026
• Duration: 12 months
• Remuneration: In line with the gazetted minimum wage and YES Programme guidelines

Please note: This opportunity is not suitable for individuals pursuing a Candidate Attorney role or those currently in their third or fourth year of LLB studies. Requirements:

• You are currently unemployed
• You have not previously participated in the YES Programme
• You reside in or around Durban and are able to commute to Umhlanga daily
• You are aged between 18 and 35 (Applicants turning 36 in 2026 do not qualify)
• You hold a Matric Certificate
• You consent to us conducting a police clearance and credit check.
