About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in general accounting, asset management, and financial operations. The successful candidate will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, managing the fixed asset register, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register (both system and manual).
  • Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Support preparation of financial reports and schedules for management.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure all asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers are accurately recorded.
  • Monitor asset lifecycle and depreciation schedules.
  • Support asset procurement processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Manage and reconcile corporate cards, including Amex and fleet cards.
  • Ensure all card transactions are supported by valid documentation and comply with company policy.
  • Liaise with cardholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely submissions.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Participate in finance projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Qualify:

  • Matric is Essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Entry level experience, internship or vacation work in a finance environment is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial systems.

 

Technical / Professional Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
