About the Internship
The SCM Interns will be given a thorough overview of the process for procuring goods and services, including activities associated with planning and contract management using CTICC funding. The Interns will also become familiar with the CTICC’s SCM Policy, board rules and all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
Reporting to the: Supply Chain Manager
Duration: 1 year Fixed Term Contract
Key Responsibilities will include
- Demand Management and Procurement Planning
- Assist the SCM Practitioners with the implementation of the Demand Management Plan and ensuring the adherence to set deadlines
- Perform market research on behalf of the SCM department which can assist/inform the compilation of specifications and procurement processes
- Acquisition Management
- Assist the SCM Practitioner’s throughout the tender and RFQ processes.
- Corresponding with vendors, obtaining price quotes, and requesting completion of procurement related forms.
- Compiling documentation and reports in accordance with the SCM Policy and department rules.
- Supplier Database
- Assist the Database Administrator with all matters related to the Supplier Database.
- Acting as liaison between the user departments and SCM.
- Monitor the renewal of registrations and submission of necessary documentation by registered suppliers.
- Contract Management and Logistics
- Assist the Purchasing Department in the issuing of purchase orders, receiving of stock and monitoring of contracts under their supervision.
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager with any contract administration duties.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6/7) in: Supply Chain Management / Procurement / Finance or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to function under work and time pressure
- Self-discipline, sound interpersonal relations regarding clients and colleagues, punctual and sound health
- Must be able to collate, update and maintain information necessitating the application of interpretative skills and understanding general clerical procedures
- Communication and Writing Skill must be exceptional, both written and verbal. Engagement at all levels would be required
- Good attention to detail
- Must be computer literate and proficient with all MS applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
