CAPRISA: Data Management Internship Programme 2024
The Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA) invites graduates who are currently unemployed and have completed a qualification in the field of study of Data / Statistics / Computer Science or Information Technology.
The successful candidate will join the CAPRISA team based at Head Office.
Responsibilities:
- Design, setup and maintain studies using data collection systems.
- Develop reports and visualisations for a study.
- Data analysis
- Creating and maintaining data pipelines
- Administration of data management systems
- Improve data management processes.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
- Data Science
- Statistical Science
- Computer Science
- or IT
- Knowledge of data management basics
- Interests in data analysis and business intelligence
- Knowledge of databases (MSSQL, MySQL & PostgreSQL)
- Proficiency in SQL/R/Python/Julia
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Analytical, strategic, and logical thinking skills
- Time management, discipline, and accountability
- Eagerness to learn and driven.
- Ability to speak to non-technical audiences about technical concepts.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and fit in well within a multi-disciplinary team.
