MultiChoice: Legal Internship Programme 2024
Purpose of the Position
- To gain professional experience on an 18-month divisional rotation Graduate Development Program, designed to develop future leaders in the media & entertainment industry
- To complete all training modules designed for this program and receive mentorship, coaching and on the job training
- To work closely with managers and colleagues on projects and initiatives as required
- To develop skills that can be applied to specialist areas such as Digital Marketing, Customer Value Management, Sales, Finance, Customer Experience, Legal, Corporate Affairs and Marketing, IT and Technology fields
Responsibilities:
On-the job training and delivery
- Participate in structured learning, both formal and informal
- Engage in continuous feedback
- Coordinate meetings, logistics, event attendance, etc.
- Contribute to documents, briefing papers, reports and presentation development as required
- Conduct background research and present findings
- Contribute to specific projects and initiatives as outlined by Manager
- Request necessary data from management so that reports can be compiled
- In terms of specific legal role:
- To provide expertise, research, administrative support on behalf of SuperSport Legaland advice on legal aspects of corporate decisions, policies and plans with a focus on media rights and sport content acquisitions and sport content productions. dispute resolutions, settlement negotiations and discussions.
- Advise on intellectual propertyand rights related queries
- Prepare presentationsand research on various legal topics
- Provide advice or recommendations on corporate and commercial transactions
- Review various media and sport related agreements
- Conduct training on pieces of legislation applicable to the Group
- Provide legal guidance on the structure of proposed transactions and services
- Prepare or update policies as may be necessary
- Provide advice on corporate governance developments and ensure adherence thereof
- Assist with the management of the Legal Compliance Programme (including preparation of Risk Registers)
Requirements:
- Essential: Degree level educational qualification in: B.Comm or B.A Law with LLB
- Preferred: Honours
- Must have less than 2 years working experience post studies
- South African citizen by birth/naturalisation or eligible to work in South Africa
- Must have obtained a minimum of 65% aggregate for completed, or more recent, academic results
