Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA): Learnership Programme 2024

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) invites applications from unemployed candidates to apply for a twelve (12) months Learnership Programme opportunity for the Financial Year 2024/2025.

The programmes integrate practical, theory and includes both structured work experience and structured learning with an accredited training provider - leading to South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) accredited qualification.

The successful applicant will be placed at the below MTPA Nature Reserves:

• Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve
• Manyeleti Nature Reserve
• Andover Nature Reserve
• Bushbuckridge Nature Reserve
• Mthethomusha Nature Reserve
• Songimvelo Nature Reserve 
• Barberton Nature Reserve
• Mahushe Shongwe Nature Reserve
• Verloren Vallei Nature Reserve
• Nooitgedacht Dam Nature Reserve
• Mdala Nature Reserve
• Mkhombo Dam Nature Reserve
• Mabusa Nature Reserve
• Loskop Dam Nature Reserve 
• SS Skhosana Nature Reserve
• Sterkspruit Nature Reserve
• Ohrigstad Nature Reserve

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the conservation of biodiversity on the reserves and conservation areas.
• Monitoring and removal of invasive vegetation.
• Assisting with tasks such as fires, rehabilitation, infrastructure maintenance, and more.
• Collecting data to achieve program objectives.
• Promoting environmental education and awareness within the community.
• Completing assignments related to practical experience on the reserves.
• Attending training and learner support sessions.

Requirements:

• Unemployed South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
• Must have Grade 12 / Matric.
• Applicants must reside in the Mpumalanga Province. 
• Not currently studying at any tertiary institution. 
• Not registered for any other learnerships.
• Must be interested in working outdoors and doing practical work.  
• Attach a Curriculum Vitae (CV) and ID copy.
