About the Internship

Wabtec is offering internship opportunities to Engineering graduates seeking practical experience in the rail and transportation technology sector. The primary purpose of the role is to support engineering activities, including production support, investigation support, MRP implementation, and documentation support, while gaining hands-on exposure, mentorship, and experience on real-world engineering projects.

Key Responsibilties

• Production support – Find and read drawings, link issues to the relevant parts that could contribute and make reasonable judgement about the most likely offender.
• Analyze the production team’s inputs for the problem they are having. Use knowledge from drawing\assembly combined with Logical thinking to ask the correct questions and drive the investigation
• Investigative support – Take problems that have been raised sort where the investigation should be aligned. 
• Use tools to identify possible root causes and contributors. This includes: Ishikawa \ FTA \ Excel data
• MRP support for Oracle implementation – Navigate through oracle and understand the process flow.
• Find possible issues\ corrections required.
• Manage uploads to the system, revisions, drawings 
• Documentation support - Create and update documentation, ie maintenance manuals.
• Safety Support – Investigations and general support
• Quality Improvements - Investigations and general support
• Productivity Improvements - Investigations and general support
• Support tracking of progress on Changes, Excel gant chart
• Support and attend to HTS requests
• May need to work offsite from time to time
• May need to travel locally as required by the business

Requirements

• 3/4 Years Tertiary Qualification (Engineering) Degree/Diploma

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in manufacturing and Engineering
• Strong knowledge of operational functions & cross functional inter dependencies
