About the Bursary

African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year. The African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) Bursary aims to attract talented students who are committed to their studies and wish to grow with the company. Through the bursary programme, the company strives to make a valuable contribution to the skills development within the country, as well as to enrich the host community.

Fields of study Covered By the Bursary

Bursaries will be awarded for studies at the following universities, within the following fields:
 

University of Pretoria (UP):

• Accounting
• Built Environment
• Chemical Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Computer Science / Informatics
• Electrical Engineering
• Geology
• Industrial Engineering
• Information Technology (IT)
• Mechanical Engineering
• Metallurgical Engineering
• Mining Engineering

North West University (NWU):

• Chemical and Minerals Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Metallurgy

What the Bursary Coveres

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses:

• Registration fees,
• Tuition fees (for the full duration of the course),
• Textbooks,
• Laptop,
• Accommodation in university residence
• Meals.

NB. The bursary will NOT cover any outstanding fees.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

• You must be a South African citizen
• You must have completed Matric
• You must be studying at the University of Pretoria (UP) or North West University (NWU)
• You must have completed your 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of study
• You must have a strong academic record
• You must NOT be currently receiving any other bursary funding
