Bursary Overview
The City of Ekurhuleni invites applications from academically deserving and committed students who intend to pursue Full Time Undergraduate studies in the Community Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year. This bursary aims to support talented youth, promote access to higher education, and develop skills that meet the city’s municipal service delivery needs.

NB. Only qualifications offered by accredited South African universities, universities of technology, and TVET colleges will be considered
What the bursary Covers:
- Registration and tuition fees.
- Prescribed textbooks
- Accommodation and meals (where applicable)
Conditions of the Bursary
- Successful applicants must sign a bursary contract with the City.
- Students must maintain a minimum yearly average of 70% to continue receiving the bursary.
- Bursary recipients may be required to complete vacation work in municipal departments.
- The City reserves the right to withdraw the bursary for poor academic performance or misconduct.
Selection Criteria:
- South African citizens residing within City of Ekurhuleni (proof required).
- Between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Completed Grade 12
- Secured an acceptance letter or proof of registration for the 2026 academic year.
- Provide proof of total monthly household income
